With the upcoming release of the Canon EOS 1DX on March 31st, many people are chomping at the bit to get their hands on this camera.  It is the long awaited replacement for the Canon G12 and is a powerhouse.  As everyone knows, the long awaited release of the 1DX will not come a day too soon.

Well, I have some really great news for all of you Canon fans out there in the middle of Internet land. We finally have a Canon EOS 1DX release date for this highly anticipated DSLR camera. We don’t have the actual date per se, but we’ve recently learned that the camera is finally going to be released on March 31, 2012. The way time moves these days March will be here before you know it, so don’t get too stressed out if you’re waiting for this bad boy to finally hit the market because it will be here in the blink of an eye. In case you’re wondering, the MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) is listed as $6800. So it’s definitely not the most inexpensive product in the world, but it’s certainly worth every penny and then some if you’re looking for a reliable camera that is of the highest quality.

Now that I’ve officially filled you in on the Canon EOS 1DX release date, I’d like to share with you some of the details that you can expect from this product once it’s finally released out into the marketplace. So let’s take a much closer look at some of the hardware and software that you get when you purchase this awesome piece of equipment for yourself:

Canon EOS 1DX Specs:

• it has a 3.2 inch LCD display which is very large and easy to view

• it has an 18.1 MP full frame CMOS sensor with 1080 P video capture

• it also has an SMPTE timecode which is very convenient

• the camera also is completely weather resistant and has dual CF card slots

• it is compatible with UDMA 7 CF cards and it also has gigabit ethernet which I’m sure you will certainly grow to appreciate

• finally, it has massive ISO 50 to ISO 204,800

There are a lot of people out there who for whatever reason just didn’t expect the Canon EOS 1DX release date to finally come out in March of 2012. But the truth is that it’s a great thing that they are releasing it in March of next year because so many people are anticipating it. It would be a shame to release it much later since everyone wants it to come out right now.

Thankfully, this is huge news for everyone, especially Canon, which had not announced a new camera in a while.  Canon was effected by the earthquake in March of this year, and there was little to no news from them for too long.  The only news we had is of an upcoming launch party in November, but beyond that there was absolutely no news.  Then out of nowhere, Canon comes out and announces the Canon EOS 1DX.  This camera will be a nice addition to the Canon line of high-end DSLRs.

Canon EOS 1DX Specs

• 18 megapixel full frame sensor.  This is smaller than the 1DS MK3, but it does have a larger sized sensor.  Remember that picture size is really not that big of a deal when you get up into this range of camera.  Thankfully Canon has turned their attention to other internal features and stopped the mega-pixel arms race.
• Amazing 14 frames per second shooting, and 12 fps when using auto focus.  This is a huge upgrade and amazing shooting speed, which will be great for all live sports.  Be on the lookout for some great pictures from the 2012 Olympics in London.
• 3 image processors.  This camera is loaded up with processors, coming with 2 DIGIC 5 processors and a DIGIC 4 to handle auto focus and metering.  Mind you that the DIGIC 5+ is about seventeen times faster and more processing power.  This camera can handle just about anything that you throw at it, and do it with ease.  There is amazingly low noise when shooting at high speeds.
• High ISO settings.  Standard ISO ranges from 100, all the way up to 51,200, this camera camera can shoot well in all lighting conditions and especially low light conditions.  There are special ISO settings with a low of 50 and high range ISOs of 102,400 and 204,800.  This camera is a workhorse, and lets just leave it at that.
• 61 Point Auto Focus. Taking the lead as the most advanced auto-focus on the market, the Canon EOS 1DX, is able to get a clear picture no matter what.
